I never really thought of my home town as a resort destination when I was growing up. It was a beautiful place, and there was a nice lake nearby, but it did not seem like anything special to me. I suppose that I sort of took it for granted, if you wish to know the truth. Lots of people don't know what they have until they really take a good look around. In my case, this happened when I started to see signs for cottages to rent. They came up nearly overnight! One day, the only folks I ever saw around were townies, and practically the next day, there were all these tourists renting cottages and cabins.

I had also noticed the same thing when I went on holiday in Santa Barbara, staying in Santa Barbara hotels. People would save money on paying the rates for Santa Barbara hotels by leasing a bungalow for the complete season! I looked at the nightly rate at Santa Barbara hotels versus the season-long rate of the cottages, and it made a lot of sense.

Seeing all of these people getting cabin rentals got me thinking. I realized that I had not ever done any international traveling, and that I probably should while I'm still youthful. I'm sort of a homebody for the most part. Usually, I'm glad going to work, getting a drink or two at the bar after work, and going home to enjoy a good book or movie. It doesn't take much to make me happy. Nevertheless, I've always wanted to travel - particularly to Europe. I've some relatives in England who I have never met, and it seems like the ideal time to go visit them. If I can find cottages for rent, we can all get away for a bit and enjoy the well-known British countryside together.

Ever since then, I have been researching English cottages to rent. I had not really been prepared for how much money it costs to travel abroad. Still, I've been saving up money for a while, so it should not be too hard to afford a week or two in the English countryside this summer. I actually think that I've found a cottage to rent that's ideal for my needs. I'm not sure yet, but it's looking better and better. Although it's outside of town a tad, you can still take the bus in to London. This means that I can visit the countryside, but have some time in the city as well! I can't wait to go!
